Too quick to be anything special...

Really the product description is an accurate portrayal of what happens in this very short story and you can pretty much guess what happens. So yes, it is predictable, but cute. It takes less than 10 minutes to read and is chaste, but there is profanity.

Karli the sister of the best friend is the best character with her dramatic personality and loud and brash way of talking. Alexa is a great best friend who tells Ashley what she needs to hear, not what she wants to hear. Austin,is almost non-existent, but he comes alive at the end. All the action happens in one school day.

What's Meant To Be is too short to contain too much drama, character development or great plot, so if you are looking for that, you won't find it here. The author has talent and I would have enjoyed this story in a longer version.

Too short? Maybe. But cute? Definitely!

I knew by reading other reviews here that the book was going to be short (I finished it in 25 minutes) and it was very much so, but also pretty enjoyable. I liked the Ash (main) character and her friends seemed cool. Ash's crush Austin was interesting too and sounded really cute! This book felt very authentic to a way many a teen would feel in this situation. I quite enjoyed it and would buy more books from this author. Hopefully she will put some out soon!

I read this in school in a period that was 50 minutes long and still had 30 minutes to spare. It's cute and a little cheesy. It's not a long or heavy read. Interesting characters and a thought out plot. It was a tad disappointing in the end but good.

This book is on my concierge desk.

I am a concierge, and I bought this book and Ultimate Service when I got my job to help me thru getting my desk started up again, as the hotel that hired me had inactivated their concierge desk. The overarching value of this book is not just the how of the job, but the anecdotes from the experienced concierges out there who contributed stories. Reading the stories will make you appreciate the job and its challenges, and the how-to qualities are definitely there. Excellent book for someone starting in a hotel or a resort, and it is not written for the corporate or startup business types. I read this book when my desk is slow just to stay sharp on the little things and get inspiration on a rough day from some of the miracles that those around this great job seem to be able to make happen.

Provides a good framework on the hospitality industry as a whole, but at a reasonably introductory level.

Well written, but fairly light on content - if you were planning to use this as a foundation piece for investigating starting a business (for example). If that is your cause you would need to read this in conjunction with other books in the field.

This book is great. It presents the concierge as a proffesion and gives insights and valuable tips to the many activities and roles that a concierge executes. I would reccomend this book to anyone who is starting a job within a hotel or service position.

Review of "The Complete Upmanship" by Stephen Potter. This benchmark work is comprised of the four short books by the same author: Gamesmanship; Lifemanship; One-Upmanship; and Supermanship. With his subtle satire Stephen Potter writes and expounds upon his belief that the clever (but courteous) gentleman can be superior to the "expert" in any social situation. He offers solutions and demonstrates in the forms of ploys and gambits how a "psychologically well equipped gentleman can win at the games of life without really being able to play them well." In short, it is a primer for the rest of us. For example, when confronted with the troublesome aspect of the appreciation of music Potter instructs us as such: "The general aim in music is to make other people feel outside it - or outsiders, compared to yourself. Don't look to solemn when music is played; on the contrary, be rather jolly about your musical appreciation. Say, 'Yes, it's a grand tune, isn't it?' and bawl it out in a cracked, unmusical voice. Say, 'Ludwig suggests that this theme represents the galloping hooves of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. But to me it's just a grand tune.'" The purpose is self explanatory. I read this book when I was at college and never forgot it. The great illustrations and tricks are sensational. He understands all essentials in life! In addition to the fim he also acts incredibly well.

Cooper was one of the first bomber pilots in World War I. After the war, he helped form the famous Kosciuszko Squadron in battle-torn Poland. In addition to producing King Kong, he was the first to team Fred Astaire with Ginger Rogers, arranged Katharine Hepburn’s screen test, collaborated with John Ford on Hollywood’s greatest Westerns, and then changed the face of film forever with Cinerama, the original “virtual reality.” He returned to military service during World War II, serving with General Claire Chennault in China, flying missions into the heart of enemy territory.

With Peter Jackson's King Kong remake due in December, this boisterous, chest-thumping biography of film pioneer Cooper (1893–1973), producer-director of the original 1933 film, is certain to attract attention. Vaz (The Art of the Incredibles; etc.) captures the mythic magic of Cooper's cinematic creations, and Cooper himself emerges as an equally legendary character. He attended the U.S. Naval Academy, but left before graduating and joined the 1916 hunt for Pancho Villa. A 1921 newspaper article tallied his WWI experiences: "All Warsaw is at the feet of the American ace who was twice shot down from the clouds, twice endured the squalor of prison camps, twice was reported dead." Cooper and his partner Ernest Schoedsack traveled the world shooting documentaries, scoring a box-office hit with the Oscar-nominated Chang (1927) before moving on to dramatic filmmaking. After "human dynamo" Cooper took over as RKO studio chief, he joined the WWII Flying Tigers and received a U.S.A.F. brigadier general promotion. Launching Cinerama in 1952, he was awarded an honorary 1953 Oscar. An experienced writer on movie special effects and special-effects movies has put together a readable, frequently gripping biography of Merian C. Cooper (1893-1973), whose exploits sometimes put one in mind of Indiana Jones but who is best known as producer--director, with Ernest B. Schoedsack, of King Kong. Before that cinematic milestone, he had been a pilot in World War I and a POW in Germany. His career began with wildlife films that involved frequent journeys to remote regions and, occasionally, acute danger. Nor did he rest on his laurels after King Kong. He returned to flying in World War II, undertaking combat missions when nearly 50 years old as chief of staff of the Flying Tigers in China. After the war, he returned to Hollywood as a senior executive at RKO. The book offers abundant facts, adequate prose, a lavish selection of photographs, and remarks by a panoply of famous interviewees. A man's man.

For film buffs, this book is a must. Merian C. Cooper was an unbelievable "real life" character that no one has heard of. You couldn't make his life up. A World war One bomber pilot, who received 60 medals for valor, An Adventurer, who made African adventure films and documentaries. He was a founder of Pan American airways. As a director his first feature film was King Kong. A Studio Exec (RKO-MGM) who formed a partnership with Director John Ford and produced ALL of his best known westerns including the Searchers. In World War Two he re-enlisted in the Army Air Corps to become chief of Staff of Chinault's Flying Tigers and General MacArthur in the Phililpine campaign. Following the war he returned to film and the studio that made him. I can't recommend enough. This guy was the James Cameron of the 40's.

Is there a nice way to say that a book sucks?

First of all this isn't a book, its more of a informational paper without any real depth, so just a paper of sorts. It's more of a advert for TI chips without the showmanship of a good advert. If you have enough time to read this book (5 mins), then you have enough time to download any of the BLE Software Development Kits and start working on a project. The book offered no further insights than a basic Google search about the BLE stack and a TI chipset data sheet would provide. I realize the price of the book was low and since I have a prime account it was free, that being said "I got ripped off!".

A complete waste of time, even for something that's free. Badly formatted, at least on the Kindle, no explanations or underlying theory, and really, who uses an 8051 these days? It was old in 1986, let alone 2016.
