Colonel McLyman has forty-seven years of experience in the field of Magnetics, and holds fourteen United States Patents on Magnetics-related concepts. He retired as a Senior Member of the Avionics Equipment Section of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) affiliated with the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California.

I took a risk and bought the second edition instead ...

I took a risk and bought the second edition instead of the fourth addition because it was only ~$30 used instead of ~$150 used. In retrospect, I should have saved my money and bought the fourth edition because the fourth edition has design advice for the specific topologies I'm interested in. Amazon doesn't have the look inside feature for edition 4, but you can see the TOC on the CRC website to compare against the earlier versions to help determine if it is worth the money to buy the earlier version.
